1. Quickly inspect each stack of bags or tubes as they are coming off the line, placing any defective bags/tubes on the scrap cart and any re workable tubes in a designated rework area
2. Develop an understanding of the different stacking patterns for the department
3. Place bags neatly on the pallet in the appropriate pattern with a square, straight-up orientation
4. Wherever metal detectors are present, Off-Bearers must complete a metal detector training session before working on that line
5. When metal detectors are in use, Off-Bearers must take immediate action to carefully inspect or quarantine any bags or stacks of bags that trigger the detector
6. Notify machine operator whenever a recurring quality issue is observed, stopping the machine when appropriate
7. Where applicable, assist operator and/or helpers with paper roll changes
8. Develop an understanding of how to count bags by layer and place ID bag or pallet ticket on completed pallets
9. Develop understanding of the different scrap grades and empty scrap in the appropriate buggies
10. Maintain a clean work area and assists with machine cleanup as instructed
