The Personal Care Aide assists with patient care throughout nursing areas under the direction of licensed personnel.

• Assists patient with activities of daily living (ADLs) and documents accordingly. Assists patient with feeding and/or meals as assigned and documents accordingly. Assists patient with elimination needs as is appropriate and documents accordingly.
• Assists in discharge process of patients to include: transport, packing of personal belongings, and assistance with hygiene needs as requested. Provides for safe transport of patients through the institution. Appropriate measures are taken to escort patients into and out of the facility.

Minimum Education Preferred: High school diploma

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills Certifications: PCA certification or completion of Nurse Aide educational program First Aid (New hires have 30 days to obtain)

Required Skills Preferred: PCA experience

Minimum Education Nursing Aides who have completed the required education but not obtained state licensure will be in PCA role.
