BUNZL Vice President of Regional Wholesale & Independent Retail - (U.S. Remote) in St. Louis, Missouri

As the Vice President of Regional Wholesale & Independent Retail, you will be responsible for developing and influencing executive level relationships, penetrating market share in each account, and growing topline revenue for a portfolio of regional wholesale partners and the independent grocery retailers they support. As an individual contributor with heavy influence, you will build your sales strategy, while working in conjunction with the Regional Vice Presidents to execute against top line sales and margin expectations. Your successful business plan will target strategies including preference to Bunzl inhouse and Preferred Brands and positioning those products to the benefit our customers, sales teams and the organization to ensure overall goals are reached.

This is a U.S., remote based position. Customer accounts are spread throughout the U.S. and Caribbean. Successful candidates need to be near an airport and expect 80% travel: including overnights for meetings and other customer and industry events.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships as the primary point of contact for C-Suite and leadership teams of all regional wholesalers in the United States;

  • Present strategic plans to grow our regional wholesale and independent retail opportunities within the grocery segment to meet top line goals;

  • Understand and present our value proposition seamlessly;

  • Work to develop and enhance customer loyalty and to strengthen relationships within the portfolio;

  • Partner with the Regional Vice President’s to negotiate long term contracts;

  • Regularly conduct quarterly business reviews to improve overall connection with Bunzl leadership;

  • Oversee the profitability and growth of the team’s wholesale customers;

  • Responsible for planning and forecasting business needs on key initiatives provided by senior leadership;

  • Continually gathers, analyzes, and presents competitive information to senior leadership;

  • Conduct Bi-weekly meetings with the regional wholesale Key Account Managers, Area Sales Directors, and District Sales Managers to promote best practices and competition within the sales team;

  • Meet and exceed organizational budgets for growth;

  • Organize monthly reviews with Grocery Regional Vice Presidents to ensure alignment on account activity;

  • Compile a monthly review of profitability and sales by wholesale customer in beacon to review with senior leadership;

  • Provide a monthly review of new closed sales and opportunities that need help getting over the goal line.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field or equivalent amount of applicable experience required;

  • Master’s Degree a plus;

  • 15+ years sales/account management experience;

  • Strong analytical and business financial skills including understanding of financial modeling and cost accounting;

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a sales plan and execute it;

  • User proficiency ins Windows Operation system environment and MS office suite;

  • Prior experience with AS400 systems strongly preferred.

The target salary range for this position is $150K-200K plus bonus eligibility based on experience, education, and geography. Bunzl accepts ongoing applications.
