Assists patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to non acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Demonstrates competency in performing delegated functions and/or treatments.

Demonstrates ability to identify changes occurring in the patient’s condition and reports these to the appropriate team members.

Demonstrates professional attitude with accountability for role performance.

Performs nursing tech duties under direct supervision of RN with validation of competencies from school checkoff list with the exception of med administration and IV therapy.

Minimum Education High School graduate or equivalent or have graduated from an LPN program. Certified Nurses' Assistant Certification preferred.

Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained within one week of patient care following orientation) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Documents all necessary and required information per policy and procedure during the performance of usual duties and responsibilities. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers.

Minimum Work Experience Completion of a unit specific orientation program.
