Job Description:

About the Role:

The Quality Technician II has the primary responsibility of managing customer/production samples at the site. The role involves coordinating with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure samples are collecting during the production run. The samples are inspected, sorted, and reviewed by Operation, Quality and R&D before shipment to our Sales/Marketing departments. They will manage the shipping of the samples to customers, Sales, and Marketing Staff and communicate when samples should arrive. Maintains the facility’s Food Safety Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Program including all verification and validation activities. Responsible for leading the facility’s HACCP/Food Safety team including the responsibility for performing all hazard analysis on any new raw material or equipment introduced to the facility.

  • Capable of following detailed instruction when coordinating shipments.

  • Excellent communication skills when interacting with both internal and external customers via email or phone.

  • Organization skill are important to maintain an adequate supply of samples and shipping supplies.

  • Ensure all documentation are correct, complete, and accurate prior to sending out samples.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with personal computer, business software (Microsoft Office, and SharePoint), and technical software (ERP and eQMS systems).

  • Utilize eQMS system to create customer CoA upon request.

  • Assist with the updating of shipping and job specific SOP’s/Work Instructions.

  • Help in investigating any issues regarding sample shipments, or provided samples

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all corporate and plant specific cGMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and Quality policies and procedures.

  • Collect and review production samples and verify they meet Quality and Food Safety requirements.

  • Document retains collect from production and place into retain boxes

  • Enter in Operational and Quality Sensory data into eQMS.

  • Utilize 3rd party shipping site (UPS/Fedex) to create shipping labels and approve shipping requests.

  • Collect samples from the line as needed.

  • Work with R&D to coordinate samples shipment as needed.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

  • Coordinates the facility’s food safety self-inspection program in support of the facility’s internal audit program. Provides ongoing coaching and training for facility’s internal auditors. Responsible for reviewing all deficiencies, assisting in the development of corrective actions, trending of deficiencies, and tracking and reporting the completion status and verification of correction actions.

  • Acts as liaison for all technical and QA issues between cross-functional departments.

  • May be required to perform other business functions as business necessitates.
