Neshoba General Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Medicare Coordinator. The Medicare Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Medicare regulations and accurately completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments. The ideal candidate will possess a valid unrestricted Mississippi RN license and demonstrate proficiency in communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and complete Medicare assessments, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), in accordance with regulatory requirements and timelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather necessary information for MDS assessments, including medical records, nursing notes, and therapy evaluations.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of MDS assessments, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or missing information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding MDS assessments, care planning, and Medicare regulations.
• Utilize computer systems for data entry, documentation, and reporting related to Medicare assessments and resident care.
• Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal support to residents and their families, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, dependability, and professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Valid unrestricted Mississippi RN license.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral, and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Ability to project a positive attitude and be dependable in fulfilling job responsibilities.
• Previous experience with Medicare assessments and MDS documentation preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicare regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
