Job Summary: !!!!!! $7,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!!!!!We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Supervisor to join our team. The Nursing Supervisor will oversee the nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care and compliance with regulations. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Maple Lawn Nursing Home. You are to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Must be a role model for staff and act professionally at all times.

Duties:

• Must have the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Must have good organizational skills and be able to multitask.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
• Must be patient, tactful, as well as the willingness and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Must be able to travel to meetings and conferences to remain current on any changes in the rules and regulations governing Long Term Care, as necessary.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition and adapt the residents care accordingly.
• Must be a good communicator and be willing to work with all disciplines in the development of nursing.
• Must be able to take call on a rotation schedule made by ADON/DON
• Must be able to work on Unit as Charge Nurse / Medication nurse when needed.
• Must be available to nursing staff when needing assistance.
• Must cover the Dining room on assigned shift/or make arrangements for coverage.
• Must be able to perform duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, admissions, discharges, transfers, etc., as necessary.
• Must comply with facilities infectious control procedures under the guidance of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Administrative Duties:

• Communicate well with the Director and ADON, concerning the operation of the nursing department.
• Assist with the development of nursing policies and procedures, and assist with education of the staff to be sure we are within compliance.
• Must complete resident assessment in a timely fashion to assist with care and update care plans. This is in regard to admission during your tour of duty.
• Monitor and work with the pharmacy supplier for resident medications.
• Call physician with reports as needed such as culture, change in condition etc.
• Notify administration of incidents as outlined on contacting physician policy.
• Call staff into work to cover for resident needs, or work to cover areas of need.
• Document call-ins on absence reports.
• Attend and participate in various meetings/committees as required and as appointed by the DON/ADON, Director of Human Resources, and Administrator.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed.

Experience: - Previous experience in nursing supervision - Proficiency in managing nursing teams and ensuring quality care - Experience in home care services and assisted living facilities
