QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse who is licensed and eligible to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work beyond normally scheduled hours in the event of an unforeseen condition.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gives and receives report from on-coming / off-going supervisor. Makes rounds of both nursing stations to communicate with charge nurses and ensure all resident needs and conditions are addressed.
  • Develop and prepare work schedules for all staff on the tour of duty for which you are supervisor.
  • Monitor staff schedules making necessary adjustments to provide adequate staffing in keeping with regulatory measures.
  • Supervise and evaluate work performance of staff. Counsel and discipline employees as required.
  • Investigate, assess and evaluate any complaints regarding resident care. Document and communicate to the Director of Nursing / Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Oversee and assist when necessary, with admissions, readmissions and discharges. Ensure completeness of all information.
  • Complete supervisors daily report, include all pertinent information.
  • Assist with physician rounds. Monitor and implement necessary changes in resident care plans.
  • Monitor nursing units for compliance with infection control regulations, safety / accident prevention, resident care policies and provide guidance where necessary.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Risk Manager and LPN's in the monitoring and maintenance of resident records.
  • Assist the charge nurses and LPN's with resident care planning and implementation of rehabilitative /restorative nursing measures. Assist in providing for the spiritual, psychological, and social needs of residents.
  • Communicate with families concerning residents.
  • Ensure that resident rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, confidentiality, property and civil rights, including the right to wage a complaint, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Assist with on-the-job-training and orientation of new personnel.
  • Participate in supervisor and staff meeting.
  • Participate in all in-service programs and attend out-service programs that enhance your job responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $40.57 per hour
