Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Construction industry, based in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This role primarily involves working closely with our project management team, setting project budgets, completing billing processes, making sales and tax decisions, and processing certified payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project management team to set project budgets

• Complete AIA documents accurately and promptly

• Handle billing procedures and ensure accuracy in all transactions

• Make informed sales and use tax determinations

• Process certified payroll with attention to detail and compliance

• Maintain an accurate record of all transactions and processes

• Use MS Excel for various accounting tasks and data management

• Ensure all assigned tasks align with company standards and regulations

• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise in accounting processes.

Requirements • Proficiency in MS Excel is required for data analysis and financial modeling

• Demonstrated experience in AIA Billing for construction industry

• Knowledge of Certified Payroll to ensure compliance with labor standards

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting role, preferably in the construction industry

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Familiarity with accounting software and databases is a plus.
