Robert Half Desktop Technician in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Do you have a passion for technology and a knack for troubleshooting? Are you familiar with managing large deployments and user environments? If so, we'd love for you to join our client's team as a Desktop Technician!

In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting our desktop infrastructure and ensuring a smooth user experience. You'll leverage your expertise in SCCM, PowerShell, Active Directory, and Group Policy to automate tasks, deploy configurations, and troubleshoot desktop issues.

Responsibilities:

SCCM Management:

  • Assist in deploying and managing operating systems, applications, and software updates using SCCM.

  • Monitor SCCM health, troubleshoot deployment issues, and ensure efficient software distribution.

  • Create and maintain packages and applications within SCCM for efficient deployment.

PowerShell scripting:

  • Automate routine desktop management tasks using PowerShell scripting.

  • Troubleshoot issues and manage user environments through scripts.

  • Stay up to date on the latest PowerShell cmdlets for desktop management.

Active Directory and Group Policy Administration:

  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory.

  • Create and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings, desktop configurations, and software installations.

  • Troubleshoot Active Directory and Group Policy related issues.

Desktop Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users for desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop problems, both remotely and on-site.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of support interactions and resolutions.

Maintain Inventory:

  • Track and manage desktop hardware and software assets within the organization.

  • Assist with hardware and software refresh cycles.

    Requirements

  • A+ or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a desktop support technician role.

  • Experience with SCCM configuration and deployment.

  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for desktop management.

  • Strong understanding of Active Directory concepts and Group Policy administration.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with end-users.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
