05200 Physical Therapy Asst STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description 3.31.2017 Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

Essential Functions ?

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.

Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Minimum Education X Associate’s degree Required

Minimum Education X Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) □Other__ □Other_

Required Skills Licenses: Current and active Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of Tennessee.
