JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Materials Manager

SUMMARY

This person is responsible for supervisory work involved in the maintenance and accuracy of inventory flow and procedures throughout the plant through establishment and adherence to defined procedures. Position interfaces with molding, assembly, quality assurance, purchasing, engineering, production control, and accounting to assure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly records of inventory are maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Supervises and directs the activities of personnel assigned to department
Assures compliance with all applicable departmental and corporate policies and procedures
Recommends new procedures as required and implements new and/or revised procedures as directed
Directs, instructs, and trains new and promoted employees, and monitors, evaluates, and corrects employee performance and behavior as necessary
Maintains and updates departmental records on employee performance including the initiation of new records and reporting procedures
Investigates and implements disciplinary actions in accord with corporate personnel policies and procedures
Participates in and coordinates company programs, e.g., communications, job training, vacation scheduling, etc.
Prepares reports on accidents, injuries, disciplinary support data, etc.
Administers employee handbook provisions applicable to those supervised, including enforcement of all applicable safety rules and other rules and regulations of the company
Expedites orders as requires
Responsible for raw material files and records pertinent to transactions and operations
Prepares correspondence to expedite purchased materials, revise or change purchase orders, effect cancellations improve terms, and obtain bids
Purchase manufacturing raw materials through direct contact with suppliers
Monitor suppliers performance of on time shipments
Responsible for monitoring TPS system for all raw materials
Maintain raw material inventories at assigned levels
Coordinate personnel and equipment for physical inventories
Special projects and assignments as directed


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Minimum of two years experience in materials or related field. Supervisory and inventory experience preferred. Possesses the ability to train others for routine positions and the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position typically does not require any travel.
