Jasper General Hospital / Jasper County Nursing Home Home Health Director in Laurel, Mississippi

The Home Health Director leads and directs the daily operations of the agency. Coordinates clinical departments and assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and Federal regulations (Conditions of Participation). Understand current Home Health Conditions of Participation and develop and implement clinical changes accordingly. Provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with physician's Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patients' needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.

  • Able to perform OASIS assessments and regular home visits as needed.
  • Direct and evaluate efficiency and professional practice of nursing and HHA staff.
  • Directs and monitors QAPI program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed.
  • Monitors and identifies problem areas to the Administrator both verbally and through written reports.
  • Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease to ensure adequate orientation and staff development needs are met.
  • Assume leadership of the case management team.
  • Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in nursing, government regulations including development, revision, and implementation of department policies and procedures as required.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual agency reports as required.
  • Measures and monitors patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Orientation of new agency personnel.
  • Staff recruitment in collaboration with Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing school.
  • Valid RN license for the State of Mississippi.
  • BSN with 2 years registered nursing experience or ADN with 4 years registered nursing experience.
  • Knowledge of home health State and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid home health Conditions of Participation.
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid home health ICD -10 coding, billing, and development of 485.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 year home health experience
