HSI Corporation is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team of precision engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Program CNC machines using CAM software or manual programming methods.
- Set up CNC machines by installing fixtures, tooling, and workpieces according to job requirements.
- Optimize machining processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine maintenance of CNC machines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and GD&T symbols.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and CAM software.
- Experience with setting up and operating CNC milling machines, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in machining operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot CNC machining issues.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Certification or formal training in CNC machining or a related field preferred.
