Job Description
The Archives of Michigan internships are opportunities for graduate students to participate in the administration and management of state and local government records, local history resources, and family history collections. This position will assist with project development, modernization of records workflows, and enhancement of access tools. This position will learn about the many opportunities and challenges facing government records archivists and use best practices and methodologies to make incremental improvements. This position will work closely with the Archives of Michigan’s Government Records, Collections, and Public Access teams and engage with staff across the Michigan History Center. This position will have opportunities to learn about archives administration, state and local government records, and reference services.
This is a non-career position that is limited to working 129 hours per calendar month.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.
Preferred:
Enrolled in an accredited master’s program in library & information science, archives administration, public history, or other relevant degree program.
Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
