Nursery Person- Assistant Grower Perennial Production

Full Time Union Position 

Job Duties:

• Direct and/or perform all cultural practices necessary including: spacing, pruning, spraying, weeding, fertilizing, irrigating etc. and other as needed.

• Manage the shipping of product to internal and external customers.

• Direct and/or perform all aspects of perennial potting operation.

• Maintain communication with supervisor on all pest or cultural problems.

• Provide work direction and training to Assistant Nursery Persons, Nursery Helpers, and seasonal employees.

• Assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma plus two year certificate in horticulture or related field and two years nursery/landscape production experience including one year in leadership role.

• Valid class D Minnesota driver’s license or equivalent.

• Good knowledge of landscape plant materials commonly found in Minnesota

• Conversational Spanish speaking ability preferred or willing to learn.

• Experience with farm equipment.

• Pesticide license or willing to obtain one.

Schedule:

• Monday- Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

• Extended hours and Saturdays if needed
