Roper St. Francis Physical Therapist - Home Health Per Visit (Weekends) - $5,000 Sign On Bonus in Ladson, South Carolina

$5,000 Sign On Bonus

Hours: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One 8hr shift, two 12hr shifts.

Job Summary :

The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing prescribed treatments of physical therapy which involve a complex and sophisticated level of modalities designed to restore the patient to his/her maximum rehabilitative potential. The Physical Therapist evaluates plans and provides care to patients with a deficit in self-care, mobility, safety, range of motion or strength. The Physical Therapist is responsible for supervising and directing the care provided by the Physical Therapy Assistant. The Physical Therapist may supervise the care provided by the aide in order to increase the patient’s functional abilities and rehabilitative potential.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Physical Therapy.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Physical Therapist preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of S.C. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic tasks and activities for improving

functional abilities and rehabilitative activities. Demonstrates knowledge of orthotic, prosthetic and adaptive/assistive devices. Demonstrates good organizational and time management techniques. Specialty Areas: Demonstrates competency and skills appropriate to the specialty area, i.e., Pediatrics, etc. Competency and verification of skills may be required when applying for specialty practice.

Other: This position requires operation of a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business. Due to this job requirement, the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid, current driver's license. In addition, the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.

Contacts : Patient/family contacts in the home and various community settings. Contacts with other health care professionals, community agencies, and agency personnel.

Work Demands/Environment :

Frequent standing. Frequent walking. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying up to 50 lbs. Intermittent pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Frequent reaching with hands/arms. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Frequent driving. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on the needs of the department. Ability to read and comprehend. Possible exposure to unclean environments, toxic substances, pharmaceutical preparations, hazardous and unsafe driving conditions, and other conditions common to delivery of health care in the community.
