TEKsystems Senior Systems Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii

Description:

Responsible for planning, development, and procurement of information technology products and

services. Assist with overseeing the implementation, support and maintenance of all information

technology products and services. Ensures system availability, usability, and survivability. Administers

IT guidelines, procedures, goals, and objectives. Develops IT services and solutions to effectively meet

the future needs of clients and users. Ensures that IT services are seamless, transparent, and

effectively delivered, and that problems are promptly resolved. Coordinates IT activities with other

departments and stakeholders. Provides technical support to users as needed, diagnoses and resolves

problem tickets, and monitors applications, system security, backup, and virus protection.

  1. Assists with developing department goals, objectives and strategic plans.

  2. Executes established operational goals and ensures corporate wide plans and programs are

complemented and supported.

  1. Researches, develops and implements policies, programs and services that support the

organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

  1. Ensures that all department functions are performed in accordance with established credit union

policies and procedures and governmental regulations.

  1. Keeps informed on credit union policies and procedures affecting job duties and responsibilities,

and adheres to governmental rules and regulations.

  1. Makes recommendations to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

  2. Resolves moderately complex issues, compares alternative solutions and decides on appropriate

approach.

  1. End User Support Specialist III (10%) – Provides consultation to business area managers at the

highest technical level for all aspects of end user computing and PC/Workstation based LAN

systems software and hardware. Provides technical support and guidance to users through

consulting, teaching, and publication of documentation. Monitors projects status from start to

completion. Coordinates purchase of vendor hardware and software.

  1. System Analyst III (20%) – Supports and maintains enterprise IT systems, including

troubleshooting and remediation of system issues. Provides technical expertise and

recommendations in assessing new hardware and/or software in order to meet business

objectives. Documents system configuration, operating procedures and standards. Leads

development of system and network architecture. Provides work direction and training to others.

  1. Network Administrator III (20%) – Implements and supports network hardware and software.

Monitors and analyzes network performance to meet service level standards. Maintains network

integrity and security. Determines network and system requirements based on business

objectives. Provides work direction and training to others.

  1. Security Analyst (10%) – Plans and implements security measures to protect computer systems,

network and data. Supports and aligns work efforts with security policies and procedures in place.

Identifies potential security issues and confers with security specialists as needed.

  1. System Programmer III (10%) – Supports installation and administration of system software.

Ensures security, reliability, and integrity of application and data. Coordinates and works with third

party vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement services as needed.

  1. Project Manager (10%) – Assists with identifying and coordinating project tasks and resources to

ensure timely completion. Communicates project status and raises issues for escalation.

  1. Systems Architect (20%) – Evaluates new technologies and is responsible for the design and

development of IT infrastructure components such as systems and networks. Coordinates system

integration and user acceptance testing.

  1. Assists IT Infrastructure Systems Department Manager with developing objectives, goals, and

strategies for the IT Department.

  1. Mentors team members on the administration and support of current infrastructure. Incorporates

best practices, compliance and customizations into teaching methodology.

  1. Assess technology risks, identify and recommend effective solutions, and consults with operations

or business units when necessary. Recommend and implement methodologies to improve integrity

and effectiveness of overall IT infrastructure.

  1. Ensures system stability and accessibility. Monitors performance and makes recommendations

for upgrades and enhancements. Proactively reviews and prevents potential system and

applications problems. Analyzes complex system and network issues, provides solutions and

recommends enhancements to current configurations.

  1. Develops technical standards and guidelines to address best practices.

  2. Ensures a high level of system and member data security.

• Cloud Experience w/ Azure

• Office 365 Migration

• VMWare ESXI and Workspace 1

• Nutanix or Hyperconverged

• Team Lead or Supervisor
