*Current Starting Pay: *$20.38/hr - Plus $1.50 Shift Premium

Summary:

Under general supervision, abrades surfaces of metal parts and assemblies to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and process by performing the following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·Follows production schedule and/or direction of supervisor.

·Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of parts.

·Removes shot from parts using an air hose.

·Loads and unload tables used for smaller components.

·Shovels or pours abrasive shot of specified grade into machine hopper.

·Controls a high-powered jet of abrasives to remove scale, paint, grime, rust, and other imperfections from the metal surface.

·Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.

·Wears personal protective equipment as required. This includes fresh air helmet, blast suit and protective gloves.

·Follows proper safety procedures at all times.

·Cleans work area daily.

 

 

 

 

 

·Previous experience operating a forklift is a plus

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasional y lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds, and frequently lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
