Essential Duties:

• Produce and present sports reports across all platforms, ensuring high standards of journalistic integrity and production quality.

• Write and deliver clear, concise sports stories.

• Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating sports programming and other content.

• Respond promptly to breaking sports events and urgent newsroom situations.

• Collaborate closely with the sports team to develop comprehensive sports coverage.

• Participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.

• Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Shoot video for sports reports, including setting up, composing, and executing video shots.

• Maintain video equipment.

• Edit video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.

• Write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms.

• Engage with viewers and users on social media sites.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of sports and sports-related activities.

• Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Minimum of five years’ experience in sports reporting or anchoring (experience may vary based on market size).

• Superior on-air presence.

• Proven experience in guiding, directing, and motivating others.

• Ability to identify developmental needs and coach or mentor to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.

• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Effective listening skills to fully understand problems and work with a team to develop solutions.

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Flexibility to work any shift.
