Job Summary and Qualifications

As an ICU Department Registered Nurse (RN), you will work to provide patient care for the critically ill and/or injured patient(s). You work with a team of physicians and multiple other healthcare professionals. You will assist patients where their condition is more critical than any other Unit within the facility. Patients will frequently be connected to life support ventilators and multiple drips.

  • Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

  • Assess, plan and evaluate patient care needs.

  • Prioritize patient care based on acuity level and available resources.

  • Assist physician during examination, treatment and procedures.

  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds and monitor vital signs.

  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition, as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation system.

  • Provide age and culturally appropriate care.

  • Position Qualifications:

  • ·FL RN Licensure or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)

  • ·Current certifications: BLS & ACLS (AHA)

  • ·Basic EKG course required/certification required or successful completion of an arrhythmia examination with a score of 85% or greater within 30 days of hire. 12 Lead Course preferred

  • ·Intra Aortic Balloon Course mandatory or competed within two months of hire

  • ·In lieu of IAB course, one year documented experience with IABC is required·CCRN Certification preferred by not mandatory.·Customer service abilities including effective listening skills·Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services.
