PeaceHealth is seeking a Bereavement Coordinator- Hospice for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $31.70 – $47.53. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the coordinating all aspects of the Hospice Bereavement Services Program offered to grieving families. These services are offered in a collaborative and interdisciplinary manner.

Details of the position

  • Establishes, coordinates, and oversees bereavement follow-up services including delivery of letters, cards, etc. to families and mailings to bereaved families; assessing bereavement support needs and triage appropriately; carrying a case load of at-risk families.

  • Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates bereavement volunteers in collaboration with the volunteer coordinator. Trains volunteers and staff in bereavement and orients all new staff to bereavement protocol.

  • Facilitates periodic commemorative services for staff, hospice families, and the community at large including a hospice fundraiser.

  • Coordinates and/or facilitates all community-wide bereavement support groups. Offers bereavement support community wide as time and need indicate. Promotes bereavement support groups and other bereavement support services to the community.

  • Participates in program evaluation and ongoing process improvement.

  • Maintains an active role in the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Master's Degree Required: In related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job and

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Counseling or

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Social Work.

  • Required : OR Drivers License and proof of auto insurance.

  • Counseling, guidance or social work experience
