Job Description Summary

Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy/counseling; Develops specific treatment goals as delegated by the Clinical Manager or Director of Behavioral Health Services; Provides a seamless link between the patient and health care system through direct patient contact, comprehensive involvement in treatment planning, and communication and evaluation of progress toward patient focused goals; In collaboration with all components of the multidisciplinary team, manages appropriate use of resources to ensure achievement of quality outcomes, fiscal responsibility and patient satisfaction.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in counseling, psychology or social work required;

  • Must meet ONE of the following licensure/certification requirements: Licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work, Current licensure in the State of Alabama as a Licensed Professional Counselor, or Currently in the process of completing state requirements to become a licensed and/or certified counselor (may be in an appropriate specialty area [e.g., addictions counseling]) with all requirements to be completed within 3 years of date of hire/transfer

  • Minimum three years experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting required Knowledge of community social health and welfare programs and laws and regulations governing eligibility for these programs preferred

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

SKILLS:

  • Ability to function independently;

  • Experience in operating personal computers, including operation of computer software in a Windows environment
