CIBC Corporate Security Investigator in Chicago, Illinois

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview individuals of known or suspected incidents of material insider risk activities.

  • Investigate cases relating to defalcation, violations, and security/policy breaches (Code of Conduct) of an internal nature.

  • Assess root causes and provide management of recovery of assets and legal remedies to mitigate loss.

  • Develop and manage early warning capabilities to identify new trends and patterns using an effective corporate intelligence network.

  • Provide strategic advice to business units as the subject matter expert to ensure effective strategies are in place to mitigate internal fraud exposure.

  • Perform research to identify, assess, and recommend new and next generation tools and techniques to mitigate internal fraud risk.

  • Document and complete detailed investigative reports.

  • Possess strong analytical skills to identify, investigate and document issues.

  • Exhibit well-developed organizational skills to manage competing priorities.

  • Organize and complete work within established timeframes predominantly independently,periodically providing updates of completion status to management.

  • Support the preparation of reports to committees and leadership.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with management and business leaders.

  • Ensure a high standard of investigation service delivery.

  • Participate in special projects and research assignments.

  • Liaise with local law enforcement.

  • Liaise with Corporate Security at other financial institutions.

  • Develop and deliver formal and informal presentations to business partners on behalf of Corporate Security.

  • Ability to conduct open-source research, both internal and external databases.

  • Role uses judgement on priorities and approaches to recognize emerging intelligence needs and gather relevant information.
