Beehive Homes of Carthage is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistants to join our team. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to our residents in a warm and homelike environment. Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for residents, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist residents with mobility, transferring, and positioning, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Administer medications under the direction of licensed nursing staff and maintain accurate medication records.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with meal preparation, serving, and dining assistance, ensuring residents' dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions, promoting mental stimulation and companionship.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment within residents' living areas, including light housekeeping duties and laundry assistance.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure coordinated care and a cohesive team approach.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations governing resident care and facility operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in healthcare or gerontology preferred.
- Previous experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual attendance, with a commitment to providing quality care to residents.
- Basic understanding of healthcare practices and principles, including infection control and resident safety.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy rights.
