Eaton Corporation Senior Manager, Sustainability & ESG Excellence in Beachwood, Ohio

Eaton is hiring a Senior Manager, Sustainability & ESG Excellence. Relocation is offered to our Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.

This role is responsible for leading strategic initiatives toward meeting Eaton’s long-term 2030 sustainability goals in cooperation with other corporate functions and businesses. These initiatives are key in meeting our Science Based Targets as approved by the SBTi including strategies for procuring renewable energy to offset operational GHG emissions and approaches for reducing emission from products. This role is also a pivotal role in Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) positioning, disclosure, and performance including the climate reporting in accordance with TCFD/ISSB, UN Global Compact and others. These strategies are developed in collaboration with Investor Relations, Ethics and Compliance, Chief Council and Corporate Secretary. This role also includes publication of the Eaton Sustainability report and other reports on ESG to investors and ESG ratings entities. This role along with their direct report are responsible for the global/company-wide greenhouse gas inventory and for documentation of methods and data which are now auditable under the EU Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive. Finally, this role is responsible for monitoring global trends and regulations and advising the CSO on recommendations related to those trends.

What you’ll do:

• Lead initiatives to position Eaton as a Sustainability Leader:

-Position Eaton to join future industry leading sustainability and carbon commitments.

-Support Investor Relations and Eaton CSO with investor interest in ESG topics

-Support communication

• Advance key external partnerships to drive thought leadership, contribute to the field of corporate sustainability and support Eaton’s business strategy including:

-Carbon accounting,

-Quantifying Eaton solutions’ benefits to customers’ sustainability aims,

-Advocacy including engagement with World Business Council on Sustainable Development, Science-Based Target Initiative, World Resources Institute, UN Global Compact

• Improve Eaton’s strategy for ESG disclosures, transparency, and ratings performance to meet expectations of new regulations, investors, customers, and other key stakeholders.

• Partner with law department leadership, corporate secretary and internal audit on data integrity process development including a roadmap for public reporting and data assurance.

• Lead the development and publication of ESG Double Materiality

• Addressing external standards to fulfill customer and investor expectations.

• Develop approach for risk evaluations and disclosures to meet current investor expectations and position Eaton for future regulatory requirements.

• Annually enhance general ESG and sustainability communications to stay current with stakeholder expectations.

• Coordinate Eaton public comments around regulatory disclosures, streamlined sustainability reporting, clarification of reporting standards.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sustainability and/or ESG

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree

• 10+ years’ experience in sustainability and/or Environment Social and Governance

• Knowledge of Greenhouse Gas accounting standards; including Scope 3.

• Understanding of public reporting principles and the evolving global body of standards.

• Knowledge of the Global Reporting Initiative and associated practices and guidelines.

• Familiarity with statistics and basic cost modeling.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
