The Azure Data Analyst will perform advanced data analytics at scale, such as cleaning and transforming data, designing, and building enterprise data models, incorporating advanced analytics capabilities, integrating with IT infrastructure, and applying development lifecycle practices. The Azure Data Analyst will help collect enterprise-level requirements for data analytics solutions that include Azure and Microsoft Power BI. They also advise on data governance and configuration settings for Power BI administration, monitor data usage, and optimize performance of the data analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other roles, such as solution architects, data engineers, data scientists, AI engineers, database administrators, and Power BI data analysts.

  • Register and scan data, catalog data artifacts, find data for reporting, and manage Power BI artifacts to improve data governance.

  • Create Power BI transformation logic for reuse across the organization with Power BI dataflows.

  • Design reports for enterprise-scale through connecting to data.

  • Provide publishing reports to the Power BI Service.

  • Develop Power BI data models and create reports and dashboards, and familiarity with Direct Query storage mode.

  • Create cohesive, inclusive, and efficient Power BI reports to effectively communicate results.

  • Create and brief dashboards and reports to collaborate with the command executives, organization directors, and business operation team.

  • Provide Real-time analytics in Power BI using automatic page refresh, real-time dashboards, and auto-refresh in paginated reports.

  • Paginated reports to create Power BI artifacts that are tightly controlled rendering requirements.

  • Work with on-premises data sources requires configuring a gateway between Power BI and the on-premises data source.

  • Run command dashboard along with usage metrics or report usage metrics throughout command for task and purpose.

  • Create Action items for Power BI tenants showing criticality within the command to fulfill its requirements, meeting regulatory compliance and records management through usage metrics reports and audit logs.

  • Examine how to work with gateways and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) data sources that are used either for scheduled refresh or for live connections.

  • Utilize third-party tools to develop, manage, and optimize Power BI data model and DAX query performance.

  • Define Power BI model relationships, set up relationships, recognize DAX relationship functions, and describe relationship evaluation.

  • Enforce model security in Power BI using row-level security and object-level security.

  • Introduces foundational components of implementing lifecycle management techniques for Power BI assets.

  • Use OneDrive, Git repositories, and Power BI deployment pipelines to allow application lifecycle management techniques to reduce administrative overhead and provide continuity in the development process.

  • Deploy pipelines for creators to develop and test Power BI content in the Power BI service before the content is made available for consumption by users.

  • Create improved productivity, faster delivery of content updates, and reduced manual work and errors.

  • Create paginated reports for creating sales invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and tabular data.

  • Create tools designed as a pipeline with three stages: development, test, and production.

  • Create shared data assets for command analytics environment to provide data structure and data consistency.

  • Maintain assets and XMLA endpoint to provide administrative capabilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in a related field.

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with Power BI and Azure.

  • Possess an Active Secret Clearnce

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to create and manage delta tables using Apache Spark

  • Ability to use Apache Spark to query and transform data in delta tables.

  • Ability to Create & visualize data and create reports in Power BI Desktop.

  • Ability to create cohesive, inclusive, and efficient Power BI reports to effectively communicate results with coding software, such as SAS/SQL.

  • Ability to create reports, add parameters, and work with tables and charts in paginated reports Experience in creating data visualizations utilizing Excel, Tableau, or other visualization software.

  • Ability to use Power BI administration at an expertise level, including governance, adoption, collaborating, sharing, and automation methods.

  • Ability to combine cmdlets with other PowerShell functions to write complex scripts that can optimize workflows.

  • Ability to build Power BI reports from within Azure Synapse Analytics

  • Ability to present data analysis to various groups/individuals.

  • Ability to interpret Cmdlets functions written in PowerShell script language to execute commands in the Windows PowerShell environment.

  • Possess knowledge of Power BI model frameworks and strategies for scalability and optimization for enterprise implementation.

  • Knowledge of using delta tables with Spark structured streaming

  • Knowledge of using metrics to demonstrate the impact of command dashboards and reports.

  • Ability to create reports, add parameters, and work with tables and charts in paginated reports.

  • Subject matter expertise in designing, creating, and deploying enterprise-scale data analytics solutions.

  • Power BI skills, including managing data repositories and data processing in the cloud and on-premises, along with using Power Query and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).

  • Knowledge of fundamental components and practices to govern a Power BI tenant.

  • Knowledge of consuming data from Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Experience querying relational databases, analyzing data by using Transact-SQL (T-SQL), and visualizing data.

  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Fabric. Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
